Residents in South Dakota are urged to exercise caution as dry and breezy weather this Friday raises fire risk concerns across the region. With temperatures reaching between 66-76°F, the National Weather Service has highlighted a high fire danger due to strong winds and low humidity levels, which can quickly spark wildfires. The I-90 corridor is particularly susceptible, and local authorities are advising residents to avoid open flames and take necessary precautions to prevent fire outbreaks.

According to the National Weather Service, these fire concerns are expected to remain elevated throughout the day before slightly easing as we move into Saturday. By Saturday, temperatures will be in the mid-70s with decreasing clouds, and conditions are expected to be calmer. Sunday will see a slight temperature increase, with highs ranging from 76-81°F and partly cloudy skies, but the breezy conditions will persist.

Looking ahead, the weather for early next week promises mostly clear skies on Tuesday, with highs between 68-76°F. However, residents south of I-90 should be prepared for isolated showers by Monday, where highs will hover between 72-76°F. These showers could help alleviate dry conditions, but fire risks remain a concern until then.
