Sioux Falls, SD – Residents should prepare for changing weather as breezy winds and scattered rain showers are forecast to hit Sioux Falls starting Tuesday. Commuters along I-29 are advised to stay vigilant for potentially slick conditions and reduced visibility during late-day travel.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Sioux Falls, Tuesday will see high temperatures reach 51°F with a 60% chance of rain developing in the late afternoon and into the evening. Winds will pick up from the southeast, gusting up to 35 mph, creating challenging conditions for drivers and outdoor activities. Rain will likely continue overnight with temperatures dropping to around 43°F.

Wednesday will begin with a 40% chance of morning rain, clearing up by midday as winds shift northwest, maintaining gusts up to 25 mph. Highs are projected to peak at 52°F, with nighttime lows near 31°F and skies becoming mostly clear.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday promise relief from the damp start of the week. Highs on Thursday will reach approximately 58°F with sunny skies, followed by mostly sunny weather on Friday, warming to 61°F. Nighttime lows will hover in the low 30s to 40s throughout the period.
