Austin, Texas – Cloud cover will increase across South-Central Texas tonight, with temperatures dropping to the 60s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon, primarily west of Interstate 10, while isolated showers or storms may pop up elsewhere.

According to the National Weather Service, rainfall and thunder will be most concentrated west of the major highway, with areas like Fredericksburg, Kerrville, and Rocksprings seeing the highest chances of rain. Eastern portions of the region, including Austin and San Antonio, will experience minimal impacts, with only isolated showers.

Travelers in the western part of the area should be prepared for brief heavy rain, particularly during the afternoon, which could lead to slick roads. In contrast, those further east can expect mostly cloudy conditions with mild temperatures.

By Friday, a dry period begins, with pleasant weather conditions stretching into the weekend. Expect highs in the mid-70s across much of the region, with lows in the 50s to 60s. These dry conditions will likely last into early next week, providing a welcome break from the recent wet weather.

Warnings or alerts are not expected for Friday or the weekend, as minimal impacts are forecasted.
