Austin, Texas – Record-breaking heat continues to bake South-Central Texas this weekend, with temperatures climbing into the upper 90s and low 100s across the region. Cities like Del Rio and Uvalde could see highs over 104°F, while Austin and San Antonio remain in the upper 90s through Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, high humidity is pushing heat index values even higher, prompting a heat-related impacts advisory through the weekend. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms are also possible each day from Saturday to Monday, though not widespread enough to cool most areas.

Laredo, San Marcos, and New Braunfels are also under heat stress concerns, especially during peak afternoon hours. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable individuals. Heat exhaustion risks will increase with prolonged exposure.

A cold front is expected to reach the region Tuesday, bringing a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms and a modest cooldown. Highs will drop into the lower 90s for most cities by Wednesday, with humidity easing as well.

Warnings remain in effect through early next week. More updates are expected as the cold front approaches.
