Austin, TX – Mostly cloudy skies with isolated storms are expected today, with the potential for locally heavy rainfall.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio, rain chances range from 20% to 30% across much of South Central Texas, with the highest chances over the Coastal Plains.

Forecasters say some storms could produce strong wind gusts and brief periods of heavy rain. South winds are expected around 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.

While widespread severe weather is not expected, officials note that isolated impacts such as localized downpours and gusty winds are possible.

Rain chances are expected to continue through midweek and again into next weekend, keeping conditions unsettled across the region.

The timing of storms may affect commuters and outdoor plans, especially during the afternoon hours.
