San Antonio, Texas – San Antonio is heading into a hot, dry weekend with highs in the mid to upper 90s before the first chance of thunderstorms arrives early next week. Temperatures are expected to climb as high as 98°F on Monday, with humidity pushing the heat index into uncomfortable territory.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, light winds will give way to southeasterly breezes by Saturday afternoon, but relief from the heat will be minimal. Sunday looks to remain mostly sunny with highs near 96°F. Conditions will stay mostly clear overnight, with lows holding in the mid-70s.

Bexar County residents should prepare for increasing storm chances Monday afternoon into Tuesday. The Weather Service notes a 20 to 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. While severe weather is not yet expected, storms could bring brief downpours and gusty winds, potentially disrupting commutes and outdoor events.

Officials recommend limiting outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, staying hydrated, and monitoring updates for possible storm watches by early next week.
