Austin, TX – South-Central Texas will experience isolated thunderstorms and unseasonably hot temperatures today through Saturday. With highs reaching into the low 90s for most areas, the region is seeing temperatures well above average for early April.
According to the National Weather Service, today’s highs will peak in the upper 80s to low 90s across the region, including cities like San Antonio, Austin, and New Braunfels. Some areas, especially south of the Rio Grande, could see temperatures climb to near 102°F.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop Friday afternoon and continue through Saturday, with the possibility of localized heavy rain. Residents should remain alert for brief but intense showers and gusty winds, especially in areas northeast of San Antonio and Austin.
The hot temperatures will persist through Friday, cooling slightly by Sunday. Temperatures will drop into the upper 60s overnight, offering some relief. The National Weather Service urges people to stay hydrated and to be cautious of the heat while outdoors.
The forecast calls for a much cooler Sunday, with minimal impact expected from weather conditions.
