Austin, TX – South-Central Texas is gearing up for another round of extreme heat, with temperatures expected to soar above 100°F across much of the region. A backdoor cold front is set to bring some relief with scattered showers and storms, primarily affecting areas north of a dashed line that includes Austin.

According to the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio office, Friday’s highs will reach around 100°F in Austin, with other parts of the region such as San Antonio and Uvalde experiencing similar sweltering conditions. The weekend continues the trend, with temperatures peaking in the high 90s, potentially surpassing 100°F in some areas. Although Saturday may see some storms, the primary concern remains the heat, with lows in the mid-to-upper 70s providing little overnight relief.

Looking ahead to the workweek, high temperatures in the upper 90s will persist through Wednesday, with a slight chance of rain on Monday. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours. Heat advisories may be issued as the week progresses, with the threat of heat-related impacts continuing into next week.
