Mount Holly, NJ – A Frost Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. EDT Friday for much of South and Central New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.
Overnight lows are expected to fall to around 34 degrees, allowing frost to form in colder inland areas. The advisory includes Mercer, Western Monmouth, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic, and Burlington counties.
Communities from Trenton to Atlantic City could see patchy frost develop before sunrise, especially in rural and low-lying spots. According to meteorologists, the frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.
Residents are encouraged to bring in potted plants and cover outdoor gardens to prevent frost damage. Frost will likely dissipate shortly after sunrise as temperatures climb into the mid-40s by late morning.
This marks one of the season’s first widespread frost events for southern New Jersey, signaling the arrival of cooler fall mornings across the region.
