Phoenix, AZ — South-central Arizona is gearing up for a mixed bag of weather conditions this weekend, with chances for thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds. The National Weather Service in Phoenix issued a forecast indicating a 20% chance of storms on Saturday, especially in the afternoon and evening hours.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are likely to bring localized heavy rainfall, potentially leading to flash flooding in some areas. Gusty winds and patchy blowing dust are also expected, creating hazardous driving conditions across the region.

Temperatures will continue to soar, with highs reaching 107°F today and potentially climbing to 111°F by Tuesday. Despite the storm chances, the heat is set to persist, with only a slight drop in temperatures later in the week.

As the weekend progresses, Sunday through Tuesday will see mostly sunny skies, but the heat will remain intense, with highs in the upper 80s to low 110s. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of extreme weather.
