Summerville, SC – A Ladson woman was taken into custody early Saturday after allegedly attempting to strike two people with her vehicle in Dorchester County.
According to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after 2 a.m. to the 700 block of East 3rd North Street in reference to a disturbance. When deputies arrived, the victims reported that the suspect, identified as Aisha Patrice Faruq, 22, of Ladson, allegedly tried to hit them with her car.
Authorities said the victims told investigators that while one of them jumped off a bicycle to avoid being struck, the suspect allegedly ran over the bicycle. Faruq then allegedly turned her vehicle around and made a second attempt to hit the victims but was unsuccessful.
Deputies reported that they located Faruq at the scene and placed her under arrest. She was booked into the L.C. Knight Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.
