Spartanburg, S.C. – Warm, dry conditions will dominate across the Upstate through Friday, but residents should keep an eye on the sky this weekend as a slight storm risk develops by Saturday afternoon. Highs will climb into the mid to upper 80s under plenty of sunshine, keeping roads dry and outdoor activities largely uninterrupted.

According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after 3 p.m. Saturday. While widespread severe weather is not expected, brief downpours and lightning could affect travel on I-85 and outdoor events across Spartanburg, Greenville, and Anderson. Winds will remain light, shifting up to 6 mph during the afternoon.

Sunday brings a return to dry, sunny skies with highs near 83, offering a comfortable close to the weekend. Next week begins with more sunshine and highs in the low 80s, with partly cloudy nights in the low to mid-60s.

Residents planning outdoor gatherings Saturday should prepare for a quick move indoors if storms develop. The risk remains isolated but could bring sudden changes to otherwise warm, calm weather.
