South Carolina – A stretch of warm, sunny weather in Upstate South Carolina will give way to stormy conditions by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, a powerful storm system is expected to impact the region Saturday into Sunday. Thunderstorms—some of which could be severe—will bring heavy rain, strong winds, and possible flooding across parts of South Carolina, North Carolina, and northeast Georgia.

For the remainder of Wednesday and Thursday, conditions will remain clear and warm, with highs near 78°F in Spartanburg and Greenville. Overnight temperatures will dip to the mid-40s, with light winds making for pleasant spring conditions.

By Friday, clouds will start to build ahead of the approaching system, with a high of 74°F and a mild, mostly cloudy evening. Rain is expected to develop Saturday afternoon, becoming heavier into the night. Some areas could see flash flooding, especially in low-lying regions and near major roadways like I-85.

Sunday will bring continued rain and showers before the system moves out, leaving drier conditions by Monday. The start of next week looks mild, with highs in the low 70s.

Residents should stay updated on weather alerts and prepare for possible disruptions over the weekend. If traveling, be cautious on wet roads, as flooding could impact local highways.
