Columbia has recorded 1.2 inches of snow this season, near normal levels.

According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, Columbia, South Carolina measured 1.2 inches of snowfall as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, compared to a normal 0.9 inches through the same date.

In Greenville-Spartanburg, 2.4 inches have been recorded this season, slightly above the typical mid-February total. Charleston has measured just 0.3 inches, near its seasonal average.

The regional summary shows much of the Southeast tracking near to slightly above normal for snowfall this winter, though totals remain modest compared to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

The National Weather Service noted measurable snowfall has been observed at each primary reporting location included in the Eastern U.S. update — an uncommon seasonal milestone across the broader region.

For commuters and students across South Carolina, even light snowfall events have led to temporary school schedule changes and brief travel disruptions during peak winter weather days.

The snowfall year runs from July 1 through June 30.
