According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected late Friday night, with temperatures dropping into the low 40s. Showers will continue into Saturday and Saturday night, with an 80% chance of precipitation. Localized flooding is possible, especially on major roadways, including Savannah Highway and Ashley River Road. Commuters are advised to use caution during peak travel times.

Friday will start mild with highs near 55°F, but clouds will thicken throughout the day, bringing rain into the evening. By Saturday morning, showers could accumulate up to a quarter inch, with temperatures holding steady around 59°F. Sunday will bring some relief, as skies partially clear and highs reach 60°F.

Looking further ahead, Martin Luther King Day is expected to be colder, with highs near 42°F and a chance of snow developing Monday night into Tuesday. Residents should prepare for potential icy roads as temperatures dip below freezing early next week.

For Charleston residents, the next few days are a mix of rain, cooler weather, and changing conditions. Be sure to monitor local forecasts, avoid flooded roads, and drive carefully during rain-soaked commutes.
