According to the National Weather Service, strong storms are expected to continue into early Sunday, bringing damaging winds and possible tornadoes to Upstate South Carolina, western North Carolina, and northeast Georgia. Drivers on major routes, including I-85 and I-26, should exercise caution, as wind gusts may blow debris onto roads.
Sunday night will see clearing skies with temperatures dropping to the low 40s. St. Patrick’s Day on Monday will bring a welcome shift, with sunny skies and a high near 61°F. Winds will calm, though lingering breezes could reach 21 mph.
Looking ahead, spring officially begins on Thursday, and the forecast signals a warming trend. Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny, with highs in the low to mid-70s. By Thursday, temperatures may near 75°F, with only a slight chance of rain.
