South Carolina – Low gray clouds hang over Columbia this morning, with temperatures holding at 49 degrees and a light northeast breeze brushing across the Congaree. Roads along I-26 and I-20 are dry, but the sky feels heavy and cool.

Clouds gradually thin through the day. Sunshine begins to break through by afternoon, lifting highs to 67 degrees. Jackets feel necessary early, but lighter layers will work by midafternoon.

Tonight turns quieter with partly cloudy skies and a low near 50. Winds stay calm. Patchy fog could develop toward daybreak Wednesday, especially in low-lying areas.

By midweek, the shift toward Spring Weather becomes obvious. After early fog, sunshine takes over with highs near 78 degrees. That is a 30-degree swing from recent chilly mornings. Expect more windows open and more people outside.

Thursday pushes even warmer. Mostly sunny skies send temperatures to 81 degrees. Friday climbs to 84 with partly sunny skies. This is a true March warm spell, and it arrives just days before we spring our clocks ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday. Longer daylight will only enhance the spring vibes.

The weekend stays mild. Saturday brings a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m., with highs near 84. Sunday carries a better chance of scattered showers and highs near 85. No severe weather is expected locally, but stronger storms will fire across parts of the Southern Plains midweek.

Early next week continues warm, with highs in the mid-80s and periodic shower chances. The 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures across the Southeast.
