Spartanburg, S.C. – Fall weather is arriving early in Upstate South Carolina, bringing bright skies by day and crisp evenings through the week. Drivers on I-85 and local highways can expect dry pavement and excellent visibility, but cooler overnight lows may surprise those heading out early Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg office, Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs around 76 degrees and northeast winds near 10 mph. Tuesday night dips near 57, making it one of the coolest nights in weeks. Residents are urged to keep jackets handy and prepare for energy use to shift as cooler nights continue.

The stretch of dry weather should benefit commuters, construction crews, and outdoor events across Spartanburg County. Air remains clear, with visibility at 10 miles and winds staying calm enough to limit fire danger. Morning lows in the 50s could, however, make early school drop-offs and late-night shifts brisk, especially in rural areas outside the city center.

Wednesday and Thursday bring slightly warmer afternoons near 80 to 84 degrees, but nights remain cool, bottoming out in the high 50s. By the weekend, sunshine dominates with little chance of rain, giving Spartanburg a perfect stretch for outdoor gatherings, football games, and hiking trails.

Clear, stable weather dominates the next five days, with no advisories expected. Conditions will be monitored for changes as September continues, but no major threats appear this week.
