Columbia, SC – South Carolina residents can expect a mix of weather conditions this week, with temperatures fluctuating and a chance of rain as a cold front moves in by Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Columbia, cooler temperatures are expected Monday, followed by a warm-up on Tuesday and Wednesday. Daytime highs will climb into the mid-60s, with some areas reaching the low 70s by midweek. However, a cold front is set to bring rain chances on Thursday, followed by another temperature drop.

Patchy frost is possible Monday night, particularly in colder and sheltered areas. As temperatures rise through midweek, conditions will remain dry, but showers are likely to develop late Wednesday into Thursday. Rain chances will peak at around 40-45% in several locations, including Columbia, Bishopville, and Lincolnton. Cooler air will follow the rain, bringing highs back down into the 50s by Friday.

Residents are advised to prepare for temperature fluctuations and potential rain-related travel delays later in the week. Those in low-lying areas should be aware of possible wet conditions Thursday, and early morning commuters should dress in layers to adapt to changing temperatures.
