Columbia, SC – South Carolina residents should prepare for strong winds and scattered thunderstorms Sunday before conditions clear in time for St. Patrick’s Day on Monday. A Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect through 8 p.m. Sunday, with gusts up to 40 mph creating hazardous conditions for boaters.
According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms will continue through midday Sunday, with a high of 78°F. Breezy conditions will persist, with south winds between 13-20 mph and gusts reaching 34 mph. Rainfall totals are expected to range from a quarter to half an inch.
Sunday night will bring partly cloudy skies and calmer conditions, with lows dipping to 50°F. St. Patrick’s Day on Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 73°F, making for ideal parade and festival weather across the state.
