Columbia, SC – Warmer temperatures and sunshine will kick off the workweek in South Carolina, but midweek showers and fire danger risks are on the horizon. Monday will bring mostly sunny skies with a high near 59°F, offering a pleasant start to March.

According to the National Weather Service, dry and breezy conditions, combined with low humidity, have led to an increased fire risk across the region. A Fire Danger Statement is in effect through Sunday evening, with residents urged to avoid outdoor burning.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will see a warm-up to 71°F under partly sunny skies, while clouds increase in the evening. Overnight temperatures will hover around 57°F. Rain moves in on Wednesday, with showers likely before 1 p.m. and a 100% chance of precipitation. Temperatures will reach 74°F before cooling down into the mid-40s Wednesday night.

By Thursday, cooler and drier air returns, bringing sunny skies and a high near 61°F. Friday’s forecast is partly sunny with highs reaching 67°F, making for a pleasant end to the workweek.

Residents should stay updated on fire weather alerts and prepare for potential travel disruptions due to Wednesday’s rain. Follow local authorities for burn bans and safety recommendations.
