Greenville, SC – South Carolina residents should prepare for potentially severe weather today as temperatures climb into the 90s, with strong to severe thunderstorms expected across much of the Upstate and Piedmont regions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Greenville-Spartanburg, a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms is in effect, particularly in areas including Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and Rock Hill. The storms could bring damaging winds and large hail, posing a significant threat to those outdoors. The NWS advises residents to stay updated on weather alerts throughout the day and to secure outdoor objects that could be blown away by high winds.

Today’s high temperatures are expected to peak around 91°F, with conditions remaining mostly cloudy in the morning before storms develop in the late afternoon and evening. As the week progresses, South Carolina will experience a slight cool-down, with temperatures dipping into the mid-80s starting Monday. Sunny skies will dominate the early part of the week, with highs around 86°F on Monday and 85°F on Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to decrease slightly, reaching the low 80s by mid-week, with overnight lows falling into the 60s.
