South Carolina Forecast: Cold Temperatures Tonight Before Weekend Warm-Up, Temps in 70s Next Week

Columbia, SC – Residents across central South Carolina are waking up to freezing temperatures Friday morning, with a cold weather advisory in effect until 10 a.m.Wind chills as low as 10-15 degrees could make conditions hazardous, especially for those spending extended time outdoors.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Columbia and surrounding areas are seeing lows in the 20s, but warming conditions are expected by Saturday. Friday will bring sunshine with a high near 48°F, while temperatures will drop to the mid-20s overnight. By Sunday, highs will climb to near 60°F.

This weekend’s forecast includes mostly clear skies with mild daytime highs in the mid-50s to 60s. Overnight temperatures will remain cold, dipping into the 30s. The warming trend continues into next week, with highs reaching the low 70s by Tuesday.

Residents are urged to dress in layers, bring pets inside, and check on vulnerable neighbors. If traveling early Friday, use caution on roads, as icy spots may form in colder areas.
