Spartanburg, SC – South Carolina residents should prepare for significant rainfall as Tropical Storm Debby moves towards the state. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued an alert, indicating that the storm will primarily bring rain to the area, with the highest amounts expected along the I-77 Corridor and the western NC Piedmont, as well as areas east of I-26 in the SC Upstate.

According to the NWS, rain will begin mainly after midnight tonight, and the heaviest downpours are likely to impact the region through Saturday morning. The forecast predicts 4-6 inches of rain in some areas, with potential localized flooding, especially along the I-77 Corridor. Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and monitor local forecasts for updates.

The 10-day forecast for Spartanburg shows a high chance of rain for the next few days, with temperatures remaining in the mid-80s. Thursday is expected to see an 85% chance of rain with a high of 72°F. The rain will taper off by Friday, leading to partly cloudy skies and temperatures rising to 91°F by Saturday. Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 90°F.

Next week, temperatures will hover around the mid-70s to high 80s, with another chance of rain on Wednesday. Residents should take necessary precautions, such as securing outdoor objects and preparing for potential travel disruptions due to heavy rain and flooding.
