Officers arrived at a residence in the 3300 block of High Street, where they discovered 42-year-old Joyce Montague unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead, prompting further investigation.
According to the South Bend Police Department, the Violent Crimes Unit responded and began collecting evidence at the scene. Preliminary autopsy results revealed Montague’s death as a homicide, elevating the investigation’s urgency. Detectives are actively seeking information to identify potential suspects.
