South Bend, IN – A juvenile was reportedly shot Tuesday night on South Bend’s northwest side, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities.
According to the South Bend Police Department, officers were dispatched around 10:40 p.m. to the 2000 block of Johnson Street after receiving reports of gunfire. As officers responded to the scene, they were informed that a young child was being taken to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.
Police said the juvenile’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
As of 11:30 p.m., the case remains active and is being investigated by the department’s Violent Crimes Unit. Authorities have not released additional details on potential suspects or circumstances surrounding the shooting.
