South Bend, IN – A soggy stretch continues across northern Indiana and southern Michigan as a deep low-pressure system moves north from Kentucky, bringing scattered showers and breezy conditions into the weekend.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, widespread showers were reported across Ohio and northeast Indiana early Thursday, with rainfall tapering westward by evening. While precipitation amounts will stay light, residents should expect off-and-on showers through Saturday, particularly near Lake Michigan, where rain chances range from 15% to 45%.

Temperatures will stay mild, with highs in the low to mid-50s and overnight lows near 55°F. Friday is expected to bring isolated showers near the Michigan border, while Saturday could see scattered rainfall before skies begin to clear late.

By Sunday, forecasters expect dry and partly sunny weather, offering a calmer finish to the weekend after several breezy and damp days.

Travelers are advised to watch for slick roads and reduced visibility during passing showers, especially around South Bend, Elkhart, and northwestern Ohio.
