South Bend, IN – Police are investigating a series of violent incidents that occurred across the city over the weekend, including multiple shootings and a death investigation.
According to the South Bend Police Department, the most recent incident took place Sunday night around 10:15 p.m. on Lindenwood Drive. Officers responded to reports of shots fired and found two victims, an adult woman and a juvenile girl, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The juvenile was listed in critical condition, while the adult’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Earlier on Sunday, police were contacted by an outside agency regarding a death investigation on Pulaski Street around 1 p.m. At least one individual was found deceased at that location. Authorities said additional details will be released once next-of-kin notifications are made.
On Saturday, around 2 a.m., officers were called to Howard and Lawrence Streets for another shooting. Police said they found a 12-year-old boy with an apparent gunshot wound. His injuries were reportedly non-life-threatening.
The weekend violence began Friday night, when police responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 11 p.m. in the 300 block of North LaPorte Avenue. Officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound near the scene. He was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
