South Bend, IN – South Bend firefighters responded to two separate structure fires Tuesday morning, tackling both blazes within hours and preventing any reported injuries.

According to the South Bend Fire Department, the first call came in shortly after 7:15 a.m. on the 1100 block of North Olive Street for a reported vehicle fire. Crews arrived to find a working RV fire that had spread to a nearby structure, prompting an upgrade to a residential response. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within about 10 minutes and confirmed there was no extension to neighboring homes.

Just after 9 a.m., crews were dispatched again — this time to the intersection of Fox and St. Joseph Streets — for another structure fire. Responders found a vacant house and nearby shed burning in the 200 block of Fox Street. The exterior flames were quickly extinguished before reaching inside the home. Officials noted the structure had already been boarded up from a previous fire several years ago.

No injuries were reported in either incident. Both fires remain under investigation by the South Bend Fire Department.
