Somerset County, ME – Two people are facing aggravated drug trafficking charges after sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant in Norridgewock early Wednesday morning, uncovering cocaine, fentanyl, and other drug-related items, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
The raid occurred around 6:27 a.m. on October 15 at a Clark Street residence following a month-long investigation into suspected drug activity. The warrant was carried out by members of the Sheriff’s Office and detectives from the Waterville Police Department.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, officers seized cocaine, fentanyl, digital scales, drug packaging materials, and related documentation during the search.
Kirsten Libby, 37, of Norridgewock, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled W Drugs (Class A). Authorities said the charge was aggravated due to the quantity of drugs, her prior felony conviction, and the home’s proximity—within 1,000 feet—of Norridgewock Central Grade School. Libby remains held without bail at the Somerset County Correctional Facility. Her initial court date is set for December 3 at the Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.
Ty Peters, 28, of Fairfield, was also arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled W Drugs (Class A) and Violation of Conditions of Release (Class E). Peters, who was reportedly out on bail for a separate drug case, was taken into custody and is also being held without bail.
Officials said additional charges may follow pending review by the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office.
