Madison, Maine – Two people were arrested Tuesday after a drug search on Naomi Avenue uncovered fentanyl, methamphetamine and approximately $60,000 in cash, prompting additional charges pending lab results.

According to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Criminal Division executed a search warrant around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at a residence belonging to Allison Brown. The warrant was obtained after a monthlong investigation, with assistance from area citizens, into alleged illegal drug sales from the home.

During the search, deputies reportedly located small amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with a larger quantity of suspected illegal drugs awaiting testing. Authorities also seized numerous controlled pills, digital scales, drug packaging materials and drug-related documentation.

Brown, 42, of Madison, was arrested and initially charged with Possession of Scheduled Drugs (Class D). Bail was set at $60,000 cash. She is scheduled to appear July 8, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.

Matthew Reilly, 35, of Skowhegan, was also arrested and charged with Possession of Scheduled Drugs/Priors (Class C). Reilly was additionally arrested on a probation hold and was reportedly on probation for unlawful possession of fentanyl powder. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court July 8 at 8:30 a.m.

Officials said additional charges may be forthcoming once seized evidence is fully tested and reviewed by the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office.

The arrests may be of particular interest to local students and young workers amid ongoing concerns about fentanyl distribution in rural communities.
