Princess Anne, Md. – Two additional juveniles have been charged in the January fatal shooting of a Salisbury man, expanding the homicide case to four suspects.
According to a February 27 release from Maryland State Police, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy are charged with first-degree felony murder, second-degree murder, robbery and related offenses in connection with the Jan. 26, 2026 shooting death of Derrick Knox, 46, of Salisbury.
Police said the 14-year-old was arrested Feb. 10 in Princess Anne. The 16-year-old was arrested Feb. 4 in Chula Vista, California by the U.S. Marshals Service and extradited to Maryland last week. Both are being held without bond at the Somerset County Detention Center after consultation with the Somerset County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Two other juveniles — a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy from Salisbury — were previously arrested and remain held without bond.
Shortly after 2 p.m. on Jan. 26, deputies from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack responded to the 11000 block of Dryden Lane for a reported shooting. Authorities located two victims with apparent gunshot wounds inside a 2026 Kia Seltos parked in the roadway.
Knox was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, Kevin Pillar, 41, of Salisbury, was flown to a trauma center.
The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate.
