Los Angeles, CA — Southern California is heating up today with temperatures soaring to 88°F in Los Angeles before a weekend cooldown brings rain chances. The unseasonably warm weather will dominate Thursday and taper off by Friday as cooler air moves in.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will be mostly sunny, with light northeast winds shifting westward later in the day. Temperatures will drop to the low 50s overnight, followed by a high of 71°F on Friday. Winds will be light but shift southward Friday night as clouds increase.

Saturday remains mostly sunny with a high of 65°F, significantly cooler than today’s heat. By Sunday, conditions change, with rain chances increasing throughout the day. Highs will only reach 62°F, marking a nearly 25-degree drop from Thursday. Rain is likely to persist into Sunday night, with lows falling to 47°F.

Early next week, off-and-on showers continue, with a chance of rain on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Highs will remain in the low 60s, signaling a much cooler pattern heading into March.

Drivers on I-5 and the 101 should prepare for possible wet roads Sunday into Monday morning. Keep an umbrella handy, and expect a return to more seasonable temperatures as February ends.
