San Diego, California – Tropical moisture from the remnants of Juliette is expected to bring light to moderate rain across Southern California starting early Thursday, with showers persisting through the evening commute.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, Juliette’s remnants will drift inland from the Pacific, increasing the chance of scattered showers Thursday morning, especially along the coast and into urban areas like San Diego, Riverside, and Orange counties. Mountain regions could see higher accumulations, with rainfall totals between 0.05 and 0.25 inches in the lower elevations and up to 0.5 inches possible in the higher terrain.

Roads may be slick during peak travel times Thursday, and drivers are urged to slow down during showers. While flash flooding isn’t expected, localized ponding on roads and reduced visibility may cause delays. No major wind threat is forecast with this system.

Rainfall should taper off late Thursday night, though a few lingering showers could persist into early Friday morning. No additional tropical impacts are expected as the system moves east.
