Indianapolis, Ind. – The National Weather Service in Indianapolis is forecasting widespread snow to spread across central Indiana late Monday afternoon and evening, bringing 2 to 4 inches of accumulation for most areas before tapering off early Tuesday morning.
Snow is expected to move into northwestern Indiana first, then expand southeast through the evening. Bands of heavier snow may cause localized variations in totals, with snowfall rates at times reducing visibility and creating slick road conditions.
Travel impacts are expected, especially during the evening and overnight hours, with the highest potential for delays across central and southern Indiana.
Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and use caution on snow-covered or untreated roads. Snow will taper off before daybreak Tuesday, followed by continued cold temperatures.
