Charlottesville, VA – The National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the central Blue Ridge Mountains and Nelson County, Virginia, in effect from 6 AM to 6 PM Friday, December 12, 2025.
Snow is expected to begin around daybreak Friday, continuing through the afternoon before tapering off by early evening.

- 1–3 inches across most of Nelson County and the central Blue Ridge.
- Localized amounts up to 4 inches possible in higher elevations.
- Timing:
- Snow develops early Friday morning (around 6–8 AM).
- Heaviest snowfall expected during the late morning to midday hours.
- Snow tapers to flurries by Friday evening.
- Additional Areas:
- Light flurries or a dusting possible farther east from Petersburg, WV to Fredericksburg, VA.
