Amarillo, TX – A cold front moving through the Texas Panhandle on Monday is expected to bring a significant drop in temperatures and the potential for light snow. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Amarillo predicts that Tuesday will be the coldest day of the week, with daytime highs in the 40s and overnight lows plunging into the 20s.
According to the NWS, there is a 10-20% chance of light snow or flurries late Monday night into early Tuesday, particularly across the western parts of the Panhandle. No significant accumulation is anticipated. Residents are advised to prepare for wind chills that could dip into the teens on both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
Warmer temperatures are expected to return later in the week, with highs rebounding into the 50s by Wednesday and the 60s by Thursday.
