St. Louis, MO – Light snow is set to return to eastern Missouri and western Illinois late Sunday night, impacting Monday morning commutes. While snow accumulations are expected to stay below one inch, untreated roads, including sections of I-70, could become slick, creating hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in St. Louis, snow will likely begin after midnight and continue through mid-morning Monday. Temperatures will drop to 25°F overnight, keeping roadways cold enough for snow to stick. Drivers are urged to allow extra time for their Monday morning commute and check updated road conditions before heading out.
Winds may also gust up to 21 mph, creating reduced visibility in some areas. While snowfall will taper off by 10 a.m. Monday, lingering icy patches are possible throughout the day as temperatures hover near 30°F. Residents are encouraged to monitor the forecast at weather.gov for real-time updates.
Looking ahead, the region is expected to see sunny skies from Tuesday through Wednesday, with temperatures rising to a high of 51°F midweek. However, colder weather will return Thursday, with daytime highs in the low 30s and overnight lows dipping into the teens.
Spotters are encouraged to report snowfall totals to the NWS. Stay informed and plan ahead to navigate the wintry conditions safely.
