Quad Cities, IL – A light snow event is expected to impact eastern Iowa and western Illinois tonight, bringing reduced visibility and slick roads.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, snow will begin around 10 p.m. Saturday in southeast Iowa and spread north along the Mississippi River. It will continue into Illinois through sunrise and taper off by midday Sunday.
Accumulations will remain light, with an inch or less primarily on grassy and elevated surfaces. However, motorists should exercise caution due to reduced visibility from snow and wind.
Hazardous conditions may affect travel overnight and early Sunday morning. Drivers should allow extra time, use low beams, and stay updated on road conditions.
