Pittsburgh, PA – Residents in Eastern Preston and Western Tucker Counties are facing hazardous conditions under a winter weather advisory. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, remains in effect until 8 a.m. Thursday.
Snowfall is expected to add up to one inch, accompanied by wind gusts reaching 45 mph. According to the NWS, blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, particularly in higher elevations. Road conditions are slippery, making travel hazardous during the Thursday morning commute.
The advisory impacts Terra Alta, Parsons, Saint George, Hendricks, Hazelton, and Rowlesburg. Officials urge residents to use caution while traveling. Snow accumulation on roadways will be most severe at elevated areas.
Motorists are advised to plan for delays and reduce speeds on icy roads. The National Weather Service encourages residents to report snow or ice accumulations by calling 412-262-1988, using the @NWSPittsburgh Twitter handle, or posting to their Facebook page.
Residents should monitor updates and remain cautious while navigating the winter conditions early Thursday.
