Snohomish County, Washington – A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck northeast of Seattle on Monday morning, according to seismic officials.

The quake was recorded at 1:42 p.m. UTC on Monday, Feb. 24, which corresponds to early morning Pacific Time. The epicenter was located about 2 kilometers southeast of Cathcart, Washington, at a depth of approximately 23.9 kilometers, according to the U.S. Geological Survey and the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.

Cathcart is located in Snohomish County, northeast of Seattle and north of Bellevue.

At magnitude 3.0, earthquakes are considered minor and typically cause little to no damage, though light shaking can be felt near the epicenter. Community intensity reports indicated limited impacts.
