Snohomish County, WA – A dramatic rescue unfolded Monday on State Route 2 after a reported vehicle assault turned out to be a medical emergency that left a truck engulfed in flames, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies Sgt. Houghtaling, MPD Byrd, and Deputy Soule responded to a 911 call around the 15900 block of SR-2 after reports of a Ford F-150 repeatedly ramming into an SUV, causing its tires to burn and eventually catch fire.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies quickly realized the driver of the F-150 was suffering a medical emergency and in critical need of help. The truck’s rear section had become fully engulfed in flames, putting the man in serious danger.

Deputies used fire extinguishers to slow the spread of the blaze while carefully extricating the driver from the burning vehicle. They moved him to safety and provided medical support until fire personnel arrived to take over care.

No additional injuries were reported, and the incident is under investigation. Authorities have not yet released the driver’s condition.
