Mount Holly, NJ – Freezing temperatures are expected to create hazardous road conditions across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware late Tuesday night. Wet roads from earlier precipitation are likely to freeze, causing patches of black ice.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly issued a special weather statement at 9:58 p.m. Tuesday, warning drivers of slippery conditions overnight. According to the statement, untreated roads and bridges are particularly vulnerable to black ice. “If a road looks wet, it could be icy,” the advisory cautioned.
Drivers are urged to reduce speed, increase following distances, and avoid using cruise control. Black ice is especially dangerous as it often appears invisible, catching motorists off guard.
Those planning holiday travel or late-night errands should exercise heightened caution. Local authorities also recommend delaying non-essential travel until temperatures rise.
