Sisters, Oregon – A downtown pedestrian crash on Highway 20 Friday evening left an 81-year-old woman dead and prompted a multi-hour road closure.
According to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:24 p.m. to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash in front of Rancho Viejo at 150 E. Cascade Avenue in Sisters.
Investigators said the pedestrian, identified as Colleen Rose Greene of Bend, was crossing the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle. She was given immediate medical attention at the scene and later transported to St. Charles–Bend, where she died from her injuries.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
Cascade Avenue, which carries U.S. Highway 20 through downtown Sisters, was closed for approximately three and a half hours while investigators processed the scene. Traffic was reopened later that night.
