Sioux Falls, SD – Light snow is forecast to sweep through Sioux Falls and surrounding areas today, impacting travel and outdoor plans. Accumulations are expected to range between 1 to 2 inches in most areas, with heavier snow possible during the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin early this morning and continue intermittently until late tonight. Areas along the I-29 corridor could experience slippery road conditions as temperatures hover near 19 degrees. Drivers are urged to slow down, especially during periods of reduced visibility.

Looking ahead, the forecast predicts partly sunny skies on Monday with a high of 19 degrees and light winds, providing some relief after today’s snowfall. Tuesday marks the start of a warming trend, with highs reaching 32 degrees under mostly sunny skies. By midweek, temperatures may peak at 38 degrees before dropping again into single digits overnight Thursday.

Residents should clear driveways and sidewalks promptly after the snow ends tonight, as colder conditions Monday night may cause any remaining slush to freeze. Those planning to travel today should monitor local weather updates and consider delaying trips until roads are treated.
