Reno, Nev. – Northern Nevada and nearby northeast California will see another warm, breezy day Saturday, with highs climbing near 90 degrees across much of the region. Winds will pick up through the afternoon, stirring up hazy skies that may linger into the evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Reno, temperatures will range from the lower 80s in the Sierra valleys to near 90 across Reno, Carson City, and the surrounding basins. Afternoon breezes are expected across western Nevada and northeast California, creating areas of reduced visibility for drivers and outdoor recreation.
In Reno and Sparks, gusts could make travel challenging on sections of I-80 and U.S. 395, especially for high-profile vehicles. The Sierra valleys, including Truckee and South Lake Tahoe, will see highs in the low 70s to low 80s with cooler nights dipping into the 30s. Northeast California communities such as Susanville can expect highs in the upper 80s and lows in the 40s.
Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor exertion during peak heat, and secure loose outdoor items ahead of the afternoon winds. A noticeable shift to cooler, fall-like weather is expected early next week, with more details to follow.
