Shreveport, LA – Residents across portions of Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma may wake up to frosty conditions Friday morning as temperatures dip sharply overnight under clear skies.
According to the US National Weather Service Shreveport, calm winds and dry air will allow temperatures to fall into the low to mid-30s, creating ideal conditions for patchy frost. The highest frost probabilities—ranging from 40–60%—extend across southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas, though northern Louisiana and northeast Texas could also see frost in more rural, low-lying areas.
Forecasters warn that tender outdoor vegetation could be damaged if left uncovered. Residents are advised to bring potted plants indoors or cover them before midnight.
The chill will be brief, with temperatures moderating by Friday afternoon and a return to milder conditions for the weekend.
This frost event marks one of the first widespread cold snaps of the season for the region, signaling a quick transition into late-fall weather.
