Shreveport, LA – The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Wind Advisory for the ArkLaTex region Wednesday, warning of strong gusts and cooler conditions spreading across northwest Louisiana, east Texas, and southern Arkansas.

Forecasters say winds could reach 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, making travel difficult for high-profile vehicles and creating choppy conditions on area waterways. Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor items and use caution when driving.

Temperatures will be notably cooler today, with highs in the upper 50s to near 60°F. By tonight, readings are expected to fall sharply into the low to mid-40s, signaling one of the coldest nights of the season so far.

The NWS advises boaters to avoid rough waters due to hazardous wave conditions and strong gusts. Conditions should calm by Thursday, with dry and cool weather continuing into the weekend.
