Shreveport, Louisiana – One more seasonably cool day wraps up the weekend across north Louisiana and the ArkLaTex, but a pronounced warmup is set to begin Monday and continue through the workweek, pushing afternoon temperatures well above early January norms.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a weak cold front brings slightly cooler and more comfortable conditions Sunday, with highs mainly in the upper 50s to lower 60s. That front quickly stalls, then lifts back north as a warm front early next week, allowing much warmer air to surge into the region.

By Monday, temperatures rebound into the upper 60s and lower 70s across much of the area, including Shreveport, Texarkana, and Tyler. The warming trend strengthens Tuesday through Thursday, when highs climb into the mid to upper 70s, with some locations such as Shreveport, Lufkin, and Nacogdoches approaching or reaching 80 degrees. Overnight lows also trend milder, reducing the chill felt during the early morning hours.

The warmest stretch appears to peak midweek before slightly cooler, yet still mild, air filters in toward the end of the week. Even then, highs remain well above average, generally holding in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware as the pattern shifts, but no significant cold or winter weather is expected through the upcoming week. Additional updates will follow if rain chances or late-week changes develop.
