Shreveport, Louisiana – A brief cold spell is giving way to a significant warming trend across the Shreveport area, according to the National Weather Service.

Early Tuesday morning conditions at Shreveport Downtown Airport showed temperatures near 36°F, following an overnight low around 28°F under mostly clear skies. Winds were light, limiting wind chill impacts, but temperatures dipped below freezing during the early morning hours.

The National Weather Service reports that Tuesday will be sunny and cool, with highs reaching near 50°F. Clear skies Tuesday night will allow temperatures to fall again, with lows near 30°F, marking another cold but short-lived overnight period.

A steady warmup begins on Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs climbing to around 64°F. Overnight lows Wednesday night are forecast to remain milder, near 40°F, signaling the end of freezing conditions for most of the area.

By New Year’s Day, temperatures are expected to reach near 69°F, with mostly sunny skies and light southwest winds. The warming trend continues into Friday, when highs may reach 76°F, more than 40 degrees warmer than early-week morning lows.

Friday night lows are expected to remain mild near 47°F, with dry conditions continuing. No precipitation, winter weather, or severe hazards are anticipated during this forecast period.

The National Weather Service indicates that no watches, warnings, or advisories are currently in effect for northwest Louisiana, and the probability of hazardous weather remains low through the upcoming weekend.

Commuters, students, and outdoor workers should prepare for chilly mornings through Tuesday night, followed by rapidly warming afternoons midweek. Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts as temperatures fluctuate sharply over the next several days.
